Microsoft gets tough on the retro interface appreciators in Windows 11

Not long ago, enthusiasts published instructions for restoring the visual appearance of the Windows 11 Start menu back to its classic version. Now it turns out that Microsoft is determined to adhere to its own views on the new operating system’s interface. In the next test build, the user-favored “crutch” stopped working! So far no one has been able to get back the traditional interface.

Recently, Microsoft released a new build – Windows 11 Insider Build 22000.65. Among other fixes and improvements, the company removed access to the workaround suggested by enthusiasts. Now, testers of the new operating system cannot restore the old Start menu from the previous revision of the OS. It’s not possible even with the help of registry edits.

The release of the public version of Windows 11 is scheduled for autumn 2021. Until that time, Microsoft will continue to work systematically to perfect its creation. According to insiders, there is a chance the company will take into account the wishes of users who dislike the new design of the Start menu and the center-placed taskbar. Possibly, in the final build, we’ll get to choose the position of these elements on the desktop screen.
